The award ceremony, organized by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, took place on October 3rd, coinciding with the 70th birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, universally known as Amma, at the tranquil Amritapuri in Kollam.

Bhyrappa, the distinguished Kannada literary figure, was honoured with the prestigious 2023 Amritakeerthi (National) Award. The award ceremony, organized by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, took place on October 3rd, coinciding with the 70th birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, universally known as Amma, at the tranquil Amritapuri in Kollam.
 

The Amritakeerthi Awards serve as a vital tribute to India's rich cultural heritage and consist of a cash prize of 1,23,456 rupees, along with an exquisitely crafted Saraswati idol by the talented artist Namboothiri. These awards exemplify Mata Amritanandamayi Math's commitment to nurturing and recognizing intellectual achievements. Santeshwara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa, born in 1934, has been a significant presence in the Indian literary scene since the publication of his debut novel in 1959.
