Report on PU Syndicate Meeting held today

Chandigarh, August 26, 2023: The Syndicate in its meeting held today deliberated on all the agenda items and few of them are as follows:
 
The Syndicate approved the Minutes of various Selection/Screening-cum-Evaluation Committees.
 
The Syndicate approved the appointment of Returning Officer, for the Election of Ordinary Fellows – 2024.
 
The Syndicate approved the minutes dated 21.06.2023 of the Panjab University Youth Welfare Committee.
The Syndicate approved the recommendation of the Committee dated 04.07.2023 with regard to approval of names of Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Director and Professor, G.P. Pant Social Science Institute Jhusi, Allahabad for Dr. Ambedkar Chair and Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty, Professor of English, Odisha for Sri Aurobindo Chair
 
The Syndicate approved the minutes of the Committee dated 15.06.2023 with regard to determine the fee to be charged from each candidate for the application form for teaching posts to be advertised by the Panjab University
 
The Syndicate approved the recommendation (Current Agenda Item No.1) of the Admission Facilitation Committee dated 27.07.2023 regarding reservation of one seat for Transgender students, in Panjab University and a committee will be formed to decide the modalities.
 
The Syndicate approved the minutes of the sixth meeting of the Affiliation Committee dated 16.06.2023 except RSD College, Ferozpur.
 
The Syndicate approved the recommendation (No. IV) of the seventh meeting of the Affiliation Committee dated 14.07.2023
 
The Syndicate approved the discontinuation of  M.Ed. Course at Guru Gobind Singh College of Education, Giddarbaha, Sri Muktsar Sahib, from the academic session 2023-2024
 
The Syndicate approved the minutes of the meeting of the Committee dated 12.07.2023 to discuss the template/parameters to be prepared for the evaluation/assessment/ performance of temporary/guest/part-time faculty when granting them extension beyond one semester
