Residents of Ludhiana hail state government’s move of reducing power tariff by Rs 3 per unit

Ludhiana, January 7, 2022: Residents of Ludhiana hailed the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s move to slash power tariff by Rs 3 per unit.
It is a matter of joy among the residents who are receiving the electricity bills at reduced tariff.
The residents of West constituency expressed that the amount of electricity bills that were issued in December as well as January are around 36 to 40 percent less than the bills received in the previous months.
Dawan Kumar, a resident of Agar Nagar, said that the bill he had received in December was as per the new tariff i.e after slashing Rs 3 per unit. “It is a good decision by the government and it will give a relaxation to the residents who have been facing financial disturbances in their respective works due to coronavirus,” he said.
Similarly residents of East constituency and sub-urban Ludhiana also expressed their happiness. Jagdeep Singh Mangat from Doraha said that he received a bill of Rs 1190 in December as per the new tariff and if compared with the old tariff, the amount of bill would be Rs 1745. “The amount has been reduced by over 30 percent. Therefore, this move by the state government will be helpful for the residents to increase their savings,” he expressed.
Kailash Chand, a resident of East constituency also shared that he received bill amount Rs 1930 instead of Rs 2688 (as per old rates). Chand thanked CM Channi for fulfilling the promises that he had made to the residents.
