Jalandhar, February 19, 2019: Former president of Punjab State Unit of B.J.P and former senior minister Punjab, Manoranjan Kalia said that the sentiments of every Punjabi stood hurt on the untoward happening at Bargari and aftermath.
In a statement here today, he added that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh is more concerned with the settling of political scores than the Governance of Punjab. If every successive government started holding the predecessor government or the officers the then on-duty responsible for the omissions or commissions of running the government how the State would be administered. The recent arrests of police officers have a demoralizing effect on the police force. It is the same Punjab police force that fought against terrorism and had brought peace to Punjab. Had the Punjab police not risen to the occasion, it would have been difficult to bring Punjab back on rails. Greater responsibility to maintain peace lies upon the shoulders of Police force in comparison to civil administration, If any omission or commission is made in the discharge of the duties objectively, there are many ways to reprimand the officers instead of holding criminally responsible, he said.
Further, Kalia said that Punjab is a border state, adjacent to the State of Jammu & Kashmir. Pakistan which is not budging an inch from aiding and abetting terrorism in J&K, has an eye on Punjab to re-disturb. Any type of demoralizing effect in Punjab police force will give a chance to Pakistan to extend its machiavellian design in Punjab. Thus, the responsibility lies upon the Captain Amrinder Singh Government to keep the Punjab Police force in spirits so that no scratch can come on the peace of Punjab and refrain from indulging in blame game and settling the political scores, he said.
