Dharamshala, January 14, 2024: In a commendable move to preserve the sanctity of the revered Adi Himani Chamunda temple on the Dhauladhar hill, Congress National Secretary and Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma has announced the reinstatement of solar lights that were recently uprooted by the miscreants.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Sharma revealed that he had urgently discussed the matter with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who promptly issued orders for the reinstallation of the lights.
The incident came to light a couple of days ago when it was discovered that somebody had removed solar lights along the path leading to Adi Himani Chamunda temple. Sharma, being the first to address this issue, filed a complaint through an FIR, denouncing the removal of dozens of solar lights that adorned the route to the temple, a central place of faith for millions of devotees globally.
Expressing his disappointment, Sudhir Sharma termed the removal of these lights as shameful, given their contribution to the unique night-time ambiance around Adi Himani Chamunda. The illuminated path had become a pilgrimage attraction, drawing devotees from across the world. Sharma has urged the Chief Minister to take strict action against those responsible for this act.
Moreover, Sudhir Sharma highlighted another victory for the community, stating that the Forest Department's decision to impose fees at the Triund trekking site has been halted after discussions with the Chief Minister.
Responding to media inquiries, Sudhir Sharma assured that the construction of the Central University (CU) will indeed take place in Jadrangal, reaffirming the state government's commitment by depositing its share of Rs 30 crore for this purpose. Emphasizing his dedication to public demands, Sharma assured the community that the CU project in Jadrangal would proceed without fail, marking a significant development in the region.
