In a significant win for the Congress, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu's wife, Kamlesh Thakur, secured victory in the Dehra assembly seat by 9,939 votes, defeating BJP's Hoshiar Singh.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Ashish Sharma emerged victorious in Hamirpur, CM Sukhu's home district, by 1,571 votes.
In Nalagarh, Congress candidate Bava Hardeep, a close aide of former CM Virbhadra Singh, won by 8,990 votes.
In these crucial by-elections, Congress claimed two seats, while the BJP secured one.

In Dehra, Kamlesh Thakur of the Congress received 32,737 votes, defeating Hoshiar Singh of the BJP, who garnered 23,338 votes. Independent candidates Sulekha Chaudhary, Arun Ankesh Syal, and Advocate Sanjay Sharma received 171, 67, and 43 votes, respectively, while NOTA (None of the Above) accounted for 150 votes.

In Hamirpur, BJP's Ashish Sharma won with 26,617 votes, defeating Congress candidate Dr. Pushpendra Verma, who received 25,184 votes. Independent candidate Nand Lal Sharma secured 74 votes, with NOTA getting 198 votes.

Independent candidate Harpreet Saini gave a strong fight with 13,025 votes, followed by Independent Dr. KL Sharma with 492 votes, Independent Vijay Singh with 353 votes, and NOTA with 446 votes.

The overall voter turnout for the three by-elections was 71 percent, according to data from the state election department.

The by-elections were necessitated after the three Independent legislators, Singh (Dehra), Sharma (Hamirpur), and KL Thakur (Nalagarh), who had supported the BJP in the Rajya Sabha polls on February 27, resigned from the state assembly on March 22 and joined the BJP the following day. Their resignations were accepted by the assembly speaker on June 3, leading to the vacant seats and the subsequent by-elections.
