Dharamshala, January 18, 2024: In a bid to enhance religious tourism in Dharamshala, Congress National Secretary Sudhir Sharma has initiated a transformative project focusing on the renovation of the historic Hanuman Temple near D C office in Dharamshala. The project aims to provide a facelift to this revered temple, making it more appealing to the millions of devotees who visit Dharamshala each year.
Sudhir Sharma, also a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dharamshala, expressed his vision to rejuvenate the Hanuman Temple, emphasizing the significance of the temple as a spiritual hub attracting both Indian and international tourists. He stated that the temple, being a cornerstone of faith for devotees, represents the heart of Dharamshala as the district headquarters.
During a press interaction, Sudhir Sharma shared his longstanding dream of enhancing the temple's aesthetics, which has now materialized with the initiation of the renovation work. The temple will be adorned with red stone, and enhancements, including an attractive circumambulation path and improved boundary walls, will be implemented to elevate the overall experience for visitors.
Highlighting the choice of colors, Sharma explained that the red and saffron hues are symbolic of Bajrangbali (Lord Hanuman), further connecting the renovation to the revered deity.
Sudhir Sharma envisions the renovated temple as a catalyst for a new era of religious tourism, instructing officials to ensure the timely completion of the project. Any delays are deemed unacceptable in his commitment to realizing this ambitious undertaking.
In addition to the temple renovation, Sudhir Sharma announced a financial allocation of Rs 15 lakh from the MLA fund for the redevelopment of Favwara Chowk in Kotwali Bazaar, responding to public demand. This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance prominent areas within the Smart City Dharamshala.
Sudhir Sharma also provided updates on the ongoing developments at Gamru Ground, situated in the upper part of Dharamshala, promising a grand transformation with high mast lights and improved facilities to accommodate events such as the annual Ramlila.
Addressing concerns about preserving cultural and religious heritage, Sharma emphasized his commitment to repairing the solar lights of Himani Chamunda, ensuring the sanctity of faith is upheld. He asserted his resolve against anti-development forces, highlighting the diverse attractions in Dharamshala, including the presence of the Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama, HPCA Cricket Stadium, Martyr Memorial, and other key landmarks.
