RGC Ludhiana organises annual athletic meet

Ludhiana, April 6, 2023: Ramgarhia Girls College organised its Annual Athletic Meet today. Dr. Satish Sharma, Eminent Educationist, Former Director, DAV Colleges Managing Committee and S. Raghbir Singh Sohal, M.D. Harisar Engg. Corporation, Ludhiana marked their  presence as the Chief Guests. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur, Ranjodh Singh, President and S. Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council accorded a warm welcome to the eminent guests.Former Principal Dr. Narinder sandhu and 
Dr. Rajeshwarpal Kaur and Former Vice Principal Dr. Rippandeep Kaur were  also  present on the occasion.   

Principals of different schools running under the REC graced  their presence on the occasion. The prominent guest Dr. Satish Sharma unfurled the college flag and took the salute from the march past. Many  Students took part in the event and participants of each team were divided into players and non - players. Various events like 50, 100,   200, 400,  Metre Relay were organised. The students enthusiastically took part in recreational events like Spoon  Potato Race, Three Legged Race, Chatti Race, Sack Race. Seema of BA II (Sports Category) and Preety of B.Com. II ( Non _ Sports Category)  were adjudged the best athletics. Dr. Satish Sharma gave away the prizes to the winning participants and congratulated the students on putting up a great show. He   encouraged the students to develop the spirit of leadership and teamwork under fair play. He mentioned the importance of sports, adding that athletic activities are very important for physical and emotional growth of an individual. 

Offg. Principal Prof. Jaspaul Kaur applauded the position holders. She also felicitated the organiser Rani Kaur, Assistant Professor Dept. Of Physical Education for making the event a success with her commendable efforts. 

Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council, emphasized on the need to make sports a critical part of the curriculum as it would help in all round development of the students. He motivated the participants to inculcate sportsmanship not just  on the ground but also in their personal lives. 

Gurcharan Singh Lotey, General Secretary motivated the students to make games part of their life as they can develop their physical as well as mental stamina.
