Rich tributes paid to great educationist Bhagat Phool Singh and his daughter Padma Shri Subhashini Devi

Sonipat, August 14, 2024. BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya is a live example of great educationist Bhagat Phool Singh and his daughter Padma Shri Subhashini Devi's sacrifice and inspiration for women's education and empowerment. BPSMV Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudesh expressed these sentiments today while paying tribute to Bhagat Phool Singh on his 82nd martyrdom day and Padma Shri Subhashini Devi on her 110th birth anniversary.

Addressing the Sanskar Samman program as the chief guest, VC Prof. Sudesh said that the university administration is constantly striving to fulfill the objective of women's education and empowerment with academic excellence and coordination.

The Vice Chancellor called upon the university community to work with team spirit and give their best. She cited the example of Olympic winner Manu Bhaker and inspired the students to hone their talent and reach heights of success.

The program began with lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana. Thereafter, the students brought alive the memories of Bhagat Phool Singh and Padma Shri Subhashini Devi through speech and play. The students also danced to the tunes of patriotic songs.

VC Prof Sudesh also released the magazine - Subhashita, written under the aegis of Padma Shri Subhashini Devi Research Chair. Dean Academic Affairs Prof Sanket Vij, Officiating Registrar Prof Shweta Singh, Prof Ipsita Bansal, Prof Ashok Verma, Prof Ravi Bhushan and Dr Suman Dalal also addressed the program. Dr Mahesh Kaushik conducted the program.

Earlier in the morning, VC Prof Sudesh and Prof Hawa Singh offered sacrifices as the main hosts in the havan-yagya program organized in the university yagyashala. The havan was conducted by Shakuntala Devi with full rituals. The VC and other guests offered floral tributes at the statue of Bhagat Phool Singh and Padma Shri Subhashini Devi. On this occasion, Kamala Devi, Gyanvati, Brahmavati, Sahib Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Sanket Vij, Officiating Registrar Prof Shweta Singh, Chief Warden Dr Suman Dalal, Deputy Registrar Dr Neelam Malik, Principal of Kanya Gurukul Sumita Singh, Deans of various faculties, Heads of Departments, Professors, Research Scholars, Students, Non-Teaching Staff and Students were present.
