Road Safety Awareness Session
The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a Road Safety Awareness Session in collaboration with The Road Safety Cell of Chandigarh Traffic Police headed by Inspector Dr. Parvesh Sharma.
Chandigarh, October 4, 2024: The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a Road Safety Awareness Session in collaboration with The Road Safety Cell of Chandigarh Traffic Police headed by Inspector Dr. Parvesh Sharma.
Special emphasis was made on Helmet and Seat Belts use, Lane Discipline, Avoiding Mobile Phone Distraction and Respecting Road Signs. All the students, non-teaching, faculty members Took the Pledge for Road Safety.
The Best Mali Award for the year 2024 was awarded to Kamlesh Nath Pal working in the area of Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, Youth Welfare Department and Music Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh which included a cash award of Rs. 2100/- with an appreciation letter from the Registrar, Yajvender Pal Verma.
The results of the Best Poster Presenter, Best Posters, Poem Recitation, Patriotic Songs, on the spot painting Competition, on the Spot Essay Writing Competition and Quiz Competition were also announced and the students who got Ist, IInd and IIIrd positions and Consolation prizes were awarded the cash prize of Rs 1100/-, 700/-, 500/- and 250/- respectively. The names of the winners for Best Poster Presenter was Mansifrom PGGC for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh and the names of the Best Posters are Jiya Panjata (1st Prize), Diksha Singh (2nd Prize) and Saloni (3rd Prize), Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh. For the Poem Recitation competition, the names of the winners are, Pranav Gupta (1st Prize), Swastik Yadav (2nd Prize) and Arshia (3rd Prize). For the Patriotic Songs Competition, the names of the winners are Ravi Sehgal (1st Prize), Suniksha (2nd Prize) and Harleen & Lavanya Negi (3rd Prize). On the Spot painting competition, the names of the winners are Prishaa Talwar (1st Prize), Shivraj Singh Sekhon (2nd Prize), Ayaan Rajoti (3rdPrize) and Ayan Goel (Consolation Prize). On the Spot Essay Competition, the names of the winners are Avinoor Kaur (1st Prize), Niharika Kapoor (2nd Prize) and Jayendra Singh Kanwar (3rd Prize). For the Quiz competition, the names of the winners are, Apporva Sodhi & Jayendra Singh Kanwar (1st Prize), Sumit K. Sofi & Kuber (2nd Prize), Mrridul Kapil & Shaurya Bhardwaj (3rd Prize).
