Chandigarh, November 11, 2024: In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, Rotaractors across Chandigarh will join hands to form a powerful "Human Chain" in an effort to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donation. The event, which will take place on 12th November, is being organised by Rotaract Club of Chandigarh Shivalik to emphasize the life-saving impact of blood donation and inspire individuals to take action by donating blood.
This event marks an exciting collaboration between Rotaract clubs, local communities, and health organizations, bringing people together in solidarity for a cause that affects millions of lives globally. The formation of the "Human Chain" will take place at Sector 16 pavement, Jan Marg, near the cricket stadium, and participants will join hands to form a continuous chain, symbolizing the strength and interconnectedness of human life and the power of collective action.
The primary aim of this initiative is to raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donations and to encourage individuals to donate blood in their local communities. Blood shortages are a persistent issue in many parts of the world, and this event seeks to mobilize and inspire people to take part in life-saving donations. The event will be followed by an official blood donation drive, with medical professionals at Sector 37 Rotary and Blood Bank Society and Resource Centre and provide valuable information about the donation process.
The blood donation drive will follow immediately after the human chain formation, providing an opportunity for participants to donate blood at Sector 37 in Rotary and Blood Bank Centre, which will be staffed by qualified medical professionals. Donors will be guided through the process, and there will be provisions for post-donation care.
Rotaract President Sakshi Gandhi said, "Through the 'Human Chain' initiative, we hope to ignite a sense of responsibility and solidarity within our community. Blood donation is a simple but profoundly impactful way to save lives. We invite everyone—whether young or old, new or seasoned donors—to come forward and help us make a difference."
