Rs 139 crore plus budget passed for Dharamshala Municipal Corporation
This budget has increased by 22 percent over previous year
Dhsaramshala: Municipal Corporation Dharamshala on Tuesday passed a tax-free annual budget of Rs 139 crore, 83 lakh, 8 thousand, 996 for the year 2020-21. This budget has increased by 22 percent over the previous year.
The budget was passed unanimously for the year 2020-21 , in the meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Devendra Jaggi in the Corporation Auditorium On Tuesday.
The Mayor said that special attention will be given to cleanliness in the corporation area. The corporation has started a special initiative to bring Dharamshala in top ten environmental protected MCs. Under which, the dual cleaning system shall be adopted. There will be two types of cleaning in the city from March. Apart from door-to-door garbage collection , separate cleaning in public places will also be undertaken, for it a provision of up to Rs 5 crore has been made in the budget for the cleanliness of the city.
Mayor said that subsidy is being provided under the Solar Roof Top scheme under the second scheme. “Government already providing subsidy in ratio of 80:20 for solar rooftop system. The corporation has made a provision of 1 crore rupees in the budget to promote further the solar scheme and to install solar roof top to the people of the corporation sector. In which 5 percent more subsidy will be provided by the corporation to those beneficiaries of the area who will install solar roof tops in their houses,” said Jaggy.
He added that the corporation has made a provision of giving incentive amount of Rs 1100 on the use of green leaves plates in marriage ceremony and parties etc. The use of plastic glasses and water bottles will be discouraged in this scheme.
He said that the corporation has made a provision of 50 percent fee waiver for senior citizens taking NOC for electricity and water connections. To overcome the problem of parking in the city, a provision of 10 crores has been made in the coming financial year, which will be spent according to the need, which will be important to deal with the parking problem of the city. Parking shall be constructed on the vacant land available in different departments in the city.
He said that the Construction of parking in McLeodganj will start soon under Smart City plans . At the same time, for the construction of parks in various places of the city will also be constructed at places where the department transfers the land to the corporation or the corporation's fifth plan is also dedicated to environmental protection, In which the provision of exemption of up to 50 percent has been kept in the property tax on the construction of green buildings.” At the same time, for the construction of parks in various places of the city also,” said Mayor.
Along with this, e-toilets are proposed at various places and bus shelters through Smart City projects this year. Apart from this, 595 online applications are being considered for construction of toilets in homes under Swachh Bharat Mission this year. The corporation has made a provision of Rs 50 lakh in the budget to repair and improve the condition of toilets.
The corporation has also kept a budget of 50 lakh rupees for the construction of recreation centres in the city.
A provision of 20 crore has been made in the budget to streagthen the city's sewerage system.
A provision of Rs 15 lakh has been made for cow house operated under cow protection. Under which the campaign to send all the destitute animals of the city to Indore, Khajjian and or Sarah within 3 months will be waged. At the same time, all the stray dogs of the city will be sterilized through NGOs.
A budget of Rs 1 crore has also been proposed in the city to install 2500 new street lights in the city. So far, 3548 lights have been installed in the corporation while 2500 more are proposed to be installed.
