RS Bali, Chairman, Tourism Development Corporation flags off Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup 2023
Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board RS Bali flagged off the Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup 2023 at Billing on Wednesday. This championship shall be staged in Billing, district Kangra from 5 to 9 April.
Dharamsala, April 5, 2023: Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board RS Bali flagged off the Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup 2023 at Billing on Wednesday. This championship shall be staged in Billing, district Kangra from 5 to 9 April.
A total of 142 participants have registered themselves in this Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup 2023. Today 103 participants took part in the first day of the competition. Participants from India, America, Nepal, Spain and Netherlands are participating in the competition.
Bali said that organizing international level competition in Bir-Billing is a matter of pride for the region, the state and the country. He said that Billing Valley is rated among the best places in the world for paragliding because of its features.
He said that the Tourism Department has constructed Aero Sports Hostel in Bir with about 12 crores to promote paragliding activities in the region. He assured full cooperation from the government to promote paragliding.
RS Bali said that the decision to develop Kangra as tourism capital is a testimony to the foresight of the Chief Minister Sh Sukhvinder singh Sukhu.
He said, “1311 crore is being spent in the first phase with the help of ADB to promote tourism facilities and activities, a wellness center, a big tourist hotel, international level fountain, musical fountain, gardens would be constructed . The site has been selected in the district for the golf course to be built with 50 crores. Apart from promoting adventure sports, water sports etc., the Devi Dham Circuit for the Shakti Peethas of the district will be included in the scheme.”
He said that Rs 1.5 crore would be spent by the tourism department for the development of Kheer Ganga Ghat adjacent to the historic Shiva temple Baijnath and for creating basic facilities.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Baijnath MLA Kishori Lal, Billing Paragliding Association Director Anurag Sharma and many dignitaries were especially present on the occasion.
