Rs.65 lakh approved for toy train in Saurabh Van Vihar of Palampur: DC Kangra
"In the Kangra district, urgent efforts are underway to develop tourism. As part of this initiative, a funding of 65 lakh rupees has been approved for the establishment of a toy train in Saurabh Van Vihar of Palampur. The aim is to attract tourists, especially children," stated Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal in a press release today.

Dharamsala, July 28, 2023: "In the Kangra district, urgent efforts are underway to develop tourism. As part of this initiative, a funding of 65 lakh rupees has been approved for the establishment of a toy train in Saurabh Van Vihar of Palampur. The aim is to attract tourists, especially children," stated Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal in a press release today.
Dr. Jindal further emphasized that significant measures are being taken to enhance the tourism potential of the enchanting locations in Kangra district. Regular review meetings are being organized to ensure the promotion of Kangra as the tourism capital.
Saurabh Van Vihar, a visionary project initiated by former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar, was created in honor of Captain Saurabh Kalia, a martyr of the Kargil war. Situated at the foothills of the majestic Dhauladhars mountains, on the banks of the Neugel Khad river fed by snow, Saurabh Van Vihar is nestled in the village of Kwat near Palampur in Kangra district. The lush green forests surrounding the area also attract a diverse range of bird species, adding to its natural beauty.
