Run for Warriors Organized in Doaba College

Jalandhar, July 26, 2024: To commemorate 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Doaba College, Jalandhar in collaboration with The Hawk Riders, organized ‘Run for warriors 2.0’. Col. Vinod Joshi, Commanding Office 2Pb NCC Battalion was the Chief Guest and ACP (North) Dhamanbeer Singh was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. They were welcomed by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Hawks Rider’s Rohit Sharma, Dr. Ominder Johal, Dr. Suresh Mago and Prof. Sukhvinder Singh. Col. Joshi in his energetic speech said that Kargil Vijay Diwas awakens the spark of patriotism in all of us. This war, fought at an altitude of 16000 feet at -35 degrees Celsius, lasted 50 days. 527 warriors sacrificed their lives for the country. This war is a symbol of India's indomitable courage. He heartily thanked the principal for inviting him to the college. Dhamanbir (ACP, Jalandhar North) gave a message to spread awareness against drug abuse. He appreciated the effort of Doaba College in celebrating this occasion in most meaningful way. 

In his address, Principal Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, formally welcomed all the guests. He said that the aim of this marathon is to give a message of patriotism and fitness to the society

The program started with the presentation of Bhangra by Mr. Rajan Syal of famous Parindey Academy. He enthused the patriotic spirit in the audience with his energetic and engaging performances. After this the “Run for Warriors” was flagged off by Chief Guest Col. Vinod Joshi. Dr. Manjula Singhal, MM Hospital, Dr. Piyush Sood (National Eye Hospital), Dr. Manju (Doaba Dental Clinic), Dr Pooja Kapoor (Kapoor Hospital), Sunil Sharma (Coach & marathoner, Jalandhar Running club), Piyush (National Eye Care) sponsored the event and also took active part in it.

Run for Warriors started from Open Air Theatre, Doaba College passed through - Pathankot Bypass – Lamma Pind Chownk, Kishan Pura Chowk and ended again at Doaba College. Distinguished doctors, senior citizens of Jalandhar and more than 600 students from colleges and schools participated enthusiastically in Run for Warriors. Certificates were given to all the participants. The program was successfully conducted by Prof. Sakshi and vote of thanks was given by Dr Suresh Mago.
