Chandigarh, March 19, 2024: In present technological era of computing, we are witnessing an AI innovation spirit in multiple domains. Government’s policies and programmes are guided by AI innovations and India is committed to be responsible for ethical use of AI.
Keeping in view the same, Two days Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Viksit Bharat was organised at Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The workshop deliberated that AI technologies are transformative and will grow escalating upskilling and reskilling part of AI growth curve.
The RUSA sponsored workshop started with the interactive session highlighting the need and applications of artificial intelligence in our daily life. Eight resource persons from Industry and Academia shared their views and provided hands on training to approximately 90 participants. The major topics of workshop sessions included applications in Engineering, Medical fields, Cyber security, Robotics, Internet of Things, Embedded Systems and many more. The interactive sessions included discussions on Demystifying AI: Shedding Light on the Future, Essentials of Machine Learning and Data Science, Artificial intelligence in Cyber security and Defense, Next-Gen Cyber Defenders for AI equipped Viksit Bharat, Impact of Artificial Intelligence tools for the growth of nation, Exploiting Internet of Things for Viksit Bharat, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Interdisciplinary Insights for Bridging Artificial Intelligence for Health Data. Dr. Kavita Taneja and Anjali Jinia, Coordinator of the Workshop encouraged the students to explore new domains of Artificial Intelligence and be familiar with open source tools available to support the AI applications. Dr. Sonal Chawla, Principal Investigator, of RUSA project appreciated the efforts of the coordinators, faculty and staff members of Computer Department. The workshop ended with imparting AI equipped knowledge to budding Computer Engineers of Viksit Bharat.
