SAD-BSP govt will establish Purvanchal Welfare Board once it forms next govt: Sukhbir
Attends Chhath Pooja events in city and visits migrant family on the occasion
Ludhiana, November 10, 2021: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the next SAD-BSP alliance government would establish a Purvanchal Welfare Board to focus on the welfare of people of the Poorvanchal area who had settled down in Punjab.
The SAD president who attended two Chhath Pooja events and also visited a house of a migrant and exchanged greetings and presented sweets to the family, said “we also commit to establish a girls college in the area dominated by the Poorvanchal bhaichara besides a mega school with a capacity of 5,000 students to ensure they have access to quality education”. He also announced that all migrants would be covered under the Rs 10 lakh per annum health insurance scheme in the next government”.
Mr Badal also announced that a holiday would be observed in all districts dominated by people from the Poorvanchal area besides announcing that a five acre lake would be developed in the city to facilitate them to perform Chhath Pooja. He also announced that the chairman of the Poorvanchal Welfare Board would be given cabinet status in the next government.
The SAD president attended two Chhath Pooja events on Lohara Dhandari road organised by PD Yadav, Chanderbhan Chauhan and Thakur Vishvanath Singh.
Earlier while speaking to newsmen, Mr Badal condemned the attack on senior Akali leaders Joginder Jindu and Vardev Mann at Ferozepur today. He said the attack was sponsored by Congress legislator Parminder Singh Pinki and demanded that all Congress leaders including municipal councilors as well as the chairman of the committee – Rinku Grover be booked. He also asked chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi to order registration of a criminal case against all Congress leaders involved in the incident.
Senior SAD leaders Hira Singh Gabria, Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Ranjit Singh Dhillon and Harish Rai Dhanda accompanied the SAD President during his visit to the city.
