Chandigarh, November 14, 2024: Students of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) UIET Panjab University have claimed a momentous achievement in the world of robotics and aerospace engineering, securing victories across prestigious inter-college competitions held in Chandigarh. Teams from UIET have showcased unparalleled dedication and innovative prowess, marking an unforgettable milestone for the institution and leaving a strong impression on the local robotics scene.

The robotics team achieved a groundbreaking success at the recent competition hosted by CCET Chandigarh. After nights of tireless preparation and strategic planning, the team emerged victorious, clinching the 1st Position in RoboSoccer and securing a 2nd Position in RC Racing. The student members, Sudhanshu Rajput, Shreyvardhan Singh, Shouryavardhan Singh, and Saksham Rathore, all pursuing B.E. degrees at UIET, showed incredible teamwork and resilience. Their hard work and persistence paid off, positioning SAE UIET PU as a formidable force in the tricity’s competitive robotics landscape.

In another remarkable achievement, the SAE UIET aerospace team excelled at PEC Chandigarh's "Aqua Rocket" event. Competing in both vertical and horizontal categories, the team demonstrated a deep understanding of aerodynamics, achieving 1st place in the Vertical category and 2nd place in the Horizontal category. Despite numerous challenges and early setbacks, the team’s persistent dedication enabled them to design a precision-engineered water rocket, leading them to a well-deserved win. 

The aerospace team included Vinayak Sharma, Sahil Minz, Saksham Rathore, and Waquee Mubarak, whose commitment and ingenuity were key to their success.

UIET Director Prof. Sanjeev Puri, SAE Club Faculty Coordinator Prof. Shankar Sehgal, Technical Student Coordinator Harsh Bassal and SAE Student Chairperson Akshit Kain expressed their pride and congratulated the team for their hard work and remarkable success, emphasising the importance of such achievements in fostering a culture of innovation at UIET. These victories are a testament to the unwavering spirit, technical expertise, and commitment of the SAE UIET PU teams.
