Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman directs EO to release salaries to 27 safai karamcharis/sewermen on DC rates from April 2021

Jagraon (Ludhiana): Punjab State Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Geja Ram Valmiki on Thursday held a review meeting with the officials of administration and Municipal Council in Jagraon. 

He directed executive officer of Municipal Council to disburse the salaries to 27 sewermen on DC rate from April 9, 2021 immediately and clear all pending dues. They were getting only Rs 2400 which was increased by the government. Chairman also discussed whether the guidelines of the Government regarding are being followed strictly in the meeting. 

He also listened to the Safai Karamcharis during the meeting and ordered the officials to solve their issues on top-priority. He said that they are members of his family and the commission stands rock solid with them always. 

He said that the Punjab government is committed to the welfare of Safai Karamcharis and Sewermen and contractual system is being abolished completely. 

He also lauded the efforts of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government to regularize the jobs of the Sawai Sewaks and Sewermen. He said that he has met the Chief Minister on June 29 and handed over a 13-point report to him.
