Saksham Fit India Walkathon organized by PCRA and GAIL (India) Ltd
Event held at Sukhna Lake Chandigarh
Chandigarh: As a part of the Petroleum Conservation Research Association’s (PCRA’s) larger campaign – Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav (Saksham), GAIL (India) Limited organized Saksham Fit India Walkathon on Feb 9, 2020 at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh from 8 AM onwards. In this event more than 1200 participants including School Children, College Students, Citizens & Dignitaries participated and walked a distance of more than 2 Kms between Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden.
Smt. Banto Devi Kataria, Independent Director-GAIL (India) Limited was Chief Guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries present on the dais were Sh. Lalit Bhatt - CGM, GAIL; Sh. Shalabh Raj Gupta – SLC, Chandigarh; Sh. Sanjeev Verma – SRO, PCRA; Sh S. Ghoshal – GM, IOCL; Sh. S.Mitra –GM, GAIL and Sh. Sanjay Arora – DGM, GAIL.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest emphasized that the objective of Walkathon is to sensitize people about Conservation of Petroleum Products, educate public at large on ways to mitigate pollution levels and save resources by choosing to walk short distances.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest administered Saksham Pledge for Conservation of Petroleum Products & Protection of Environment and Flagged-Off the Saksham Fit India Walkathon.
The event was appreciated by the participants and was successful in spreading the intended message. The entire event was accomplished in a well-planned manner. The participants were given a kit which included a T-Shirt, Cap and refreshments.
