Sanjeev Arora, MP announced to take initiative to set up exhibition center in Ludhiana
Announced to take up this matter with Punjab CM
Ludhiana, February 12, 2023: AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora today announced that he would take an initiative to set up an exhibition center in Ludhiana, which is an industrial hub of the state. Ludhiana’s trade and industry has been raising this demand over the years.
Arora made this announcement when the organisers of the ongoing four-day GMMSA Expo raised the demand of setting of an exhibition center in Ludhiana. The organisers pointed out that the setting up of an exhibition center will require a piece of land measuring 20 acres. In response, Arora asked the organisers to provide him everything in written.
Further, Arora assured that he would take up this matter at every possible platform besides with the chief minister and Minister for Industries, Punjab. He said the first task would be to identify the land for the exhibition center, adding that finding 20 acres of land in Ludhiana would be tough task. “However, I shall try to get the land identified near to the municipal limits if it is not available within the municipal limits”, he said.
Arora highly appreciated the GMMSA Expo and said it has been organised in a very professional manner on the lines of international exhibitions and also at par with the exhibitions being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Arora visited the GMMSA Expo on its third day today. On the occasion, in an informal interaction with the media persons, he said he would take up the matter of setting up of a cycle track in Ludhiana with the Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and also with the NHAI chairman. Arora has been taking up the matters related to early completion of some pending works in the city to smooth the vehicular traffic so far.
Replying to a question put up by the media, he categorically stated that there would be no shortage of power to the industrial sector in summer season. He said the state government under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister, Punjab has been providing a great relief to the industry by not making any hike in the power tariff. He added the state government is committed to extend every support to the industry.
The GMMSA Expo is being held in Dana Mandi on Bahadurke road, Ludhiana where about 250 companies are participating and exhibiting around 3,000 products and services such as technology, knitting, weaving etc. The expo is being organised by Garments Machinery Manufacturers and Suppliers Association.
