Sanjeev Arora, MP inaugurates new building of Singhpura Govt Primary Smart School
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab Sanjeev Arora, on Thursday, inaugurated the new building of Singhpura Government Primary Smart School in Singhpura Village near Country Homes.
Ludhiana, August 18, 2022: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab Sanjeev Arora, on Thursday, inaugurated the new building of Singhpura Government Primary Smart School in Singhpura Village near Country Homes.
The new building of the school has been built under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Arisudana Industries Ltd, being run by the renowned Khanna Family. Arisudana Industries Ltd Chairman Kewal Khanna, MD Gagan Khanna, Director Sidharth Khanna, Nomita Khanna and Aakriti Jain Khanna were among those present.
In his inaugural speech, Sanjeev Arora, MP, said he was glad to see the commendable work done here under the CSR activity by the Khanna Family in particular Aakriti Khanna who has personally supervised whole of the work. He added that the new school building has been built at a cost of more than Rs.1 crore. It has well- furnished spacious classrooms, a library, computers, water harvesting project, beautiful plants, well managed toilets, sanitary and electrical system besides other infrastructural system. The construction work has not only added beauty to the school building but it has also filled a new zeal and enthusiasm among the students and the staff.
Arora said it is really appreciable that the Khanna family has been actively participating in philanthropic activities and social work. He added this family has also adopted at least three other government schools in Ludhiana district besides financially helping the needy Cancer patients. He requested other industrial houses of Ludhiana to follow the trend and adopt more Govt Schools. He said if every industrialist starts adopting one school each, Ludhiana will become model city for education not only in Punjab buy whole of Country.
Further, Arora laid stress on imparting education to children as it is must for nation building because education is foundation of a nation. He opined that the children might get misguided if they are not educated. He added education is necessary for peace, justice, freedom and equality. He said the educational institutions are not less than a temple where students get knowledge and wisdom.
Arora said 3.5 per cent budget of total GDP is kept for education in the country, which is very meagre. He said both the Centre and the state governments should keep maximum budget for education. He said the AAP government is emphasising on education and health sectors and the results could be seen in Delhi. Similar results would be seen in Punjab in the coming days as the AAP-led state government under the leadership of chief minister Bhagwant Mann is working in both these sectors in Punjab too, he added.
Arora announced to accept demand of the school staff to get arrange the required infrastructure including two computers and nine projectors. In their address, the Khanna family assured to provide every possible help to the school in the future also. Gagan Khanna asked the school staff and students to help in maintaining cleanliness and beauty of the school.
