Ludhiana, August 26, 2022: Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora today went to Sri Nanaksar Gurdwara, to pay his obeisance and seek blessings. He was accompanied by Eminent Nature Artist Harpreet Sandhu.
This sacred Gurdwara is situated in the Ludhiana district. It is located approximately five miles from the city of Jagraon along the road from Ludhiana to Moga. The sacred beginnings of this Gurdwara began over a hundred-years by the Holy Saint, Baba Nand Singh Ji. Arora not only paid his obeisance in the Gurdwara but he also took a round of the well-maintained garden in the Gurdwara premises. He was offered a siropa, Prasad and a booklet of various activities being undertaken by Baba Nand Singh Charitable Trust. Arora was very much impressed by the religious, social and other activities being carried out by the Trust.
Arora along with Harpreet Sandhu, MLA Jagroan Saravjit Kaur Manuke, Head of the Sri Nanaksar Gurdawara Sardar Lakha Singh Ji and the devotees plated saplings in the pious premises of the Gurdwara. This was a step to promote the tree plantation drive under the patronage of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Maan.
On the occasion, MLA Jagroan Saravjit Kaur Manuke requested the Member Parliament to release funds for development of the area following which Sanjeev Arora, MP announced to allocate funds worth Rs.11 lakh out of Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) for undertaking various development works in the Jagraon Area. Manuke thanked Arora for acceding to her demand within no time.
Arora said it was a great moment today to get blessings at the Gurdwara. He added he was delighted to see greenery at the well-maintained park in the Gurdwara premises. He said perhaps this is a rare Gurdwara where “langar” is not prepared inside the Gurdwara premises. Rather, this sewa is done by the devotees from the outside, which is a great service to the religion and the community as well.
