SBS Nagar administration identifies ten residents stranded at Ukraine: DC Vishesh Sarangal

Nawanshahar, February 26, 2022: The Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar administration has identified 10 families whose wards have been stuck at Ukraine and nearby international borders after conflict started between the Russian and Ukrainian Armies.
   

Divulging the details,  Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that out of these nine residents were on student visas while one on work visa at Ukraine.

He said that after launching helplines for procuring the information of these residents got stranded in Ukraine, administration got distress calls of these 10 families of the district.

"We have assured them of the safe return of their family members, said the deputy commissioner by adding that list and particulars of all the SBS Nagar residents stranded there, have been forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs through the State Home Department.

He said that out of these residents stranded there, eight belong to Nawanshahar while one each to Banga and Balachaur Sub Divisions.

He said that as per the details and locations with the parents/families, three residents were at Poland border while two at Romania border.
The Deputy Commissioner said that district administration has already issued helpline numbers 90417-62008 and 84370-03918 besides e-mail [email protected], yesterday which is being supervised by a PCS Officer Deepankar Garg.
