Nawanshahr, January 10,2022: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that the SBS Nagar district administration would keep a regular tab on illegal posters, handbills, leaflets
and pamphlets during the election period.
Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of the Printers and Publishers, Deputy Commissioner said that the administration would not allow any violation of the norms laid by the Election Commission of India and stern action would be taken against the violators.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the guidelines of the ECI no person should print or publish any election pamphlet or poster which does not bear names and addresses of the printer, publisher, number of copies and etc.
Further, they have to mention on the pamphlets, handbills, folders, leaflets about number of copies printed on each copy, he said and added that the complete details of election related material must be reported to concern Returning Officer.
Deputy Commissioner also asked them to collect mandatory declaration from the persons who have come for publishing pamphlets, leaflets, posters, handbills and other poll material.
He said that every effort would be made to ensure that Model Code of Conduct is implemented in right letter and spirit.
He added that teams have already been constituted and have been directed to illegal flex, posters, pamphlets during the imposition of Model Code of Conduct.
