SC COMMISSION INSTRUCTS ACS HEALTH TO ACT AGAINST ERRING OFFICERS OF GURU RAMDAS UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

MATTER PERTAINING TO NON REGISTRATION OF COURSE ON OFFICIAL WEBSITE THUS DEPRIVING ELIGIBLE CANDIDATE TO AVAIL POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP

Chandigarh, May 29, 2019: The Punjab State Schedule casts commission had ordered the Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department to act against erring Officers/Officials of Guru Ramdas University of Health sciences Amritsar and Officers/Officials of Director, Medical education and research department for causing hindrance for the eligible SC students to avail post matric scholarship by not registering the course on the dedicated portal to give post matric scholarship to the SC students under government of india scheme.

Disclosing this here today Chairperson of Punjab State Schedule casts commission Ms. Tejinder Kaur said that a resident of Village suhro of Teh. Rajpura Distt. Patiala had filed a written complaint that her Daughter Sarbjit Kaur couldn’t get the benefit of post metric Scholarship scheme due to the negligence of Officers/Officials of Guru Ramdas University of Health sciences Amritsar and Director, Medical education and research. She could not get post matric scholarship on account of non registration of the course on the portal meant to distribute post matric scholarship to SC students under Government of India scheme.

Acting on the complaint, Commission had sought report from the concerned departments and found that the course was not registered with the post metric Scholarship scheme to SC Students of Government of India. Due to which Complaints' Daughter couldn’t get the benefit of Scheme and she requested many a time through written application to both the organizations but to no avail.

She further said that Action Taken report has been sought from the concerned department June 16, 2019.
