SCD Govt College, Ludhiana condole death of Pakistan Senator Hamza-a pre1947 Alumnus 

Ludhiana, August 29, 2021: The SCD Govt. College for Boys Alumni Association condoled the demise of their brilliant Alumnus Muhammad Hamza who was a student of the college before 1947 and became a Member of Parliament in Pakistan (MNA) and was a popular political figure strong views. Hamza was born on 20 March 1929 in Ludhiana with early education from local Islamia School. He migrated to Pakistan during his final year of Bachelor's to join Govt. College, Lahore from Govt. College for Boys, Ludhiana where he pursued BA economics.

Alumni coordinators Brij Goyal and Navdeep Singh said that in the year 2015, Hamza came to visit his Alma Mater with his son from Pakistan and his grand cousins now living in Ludhiana. Dr Harblas Hira, an alumnus and a teacher who authored a coffee table book on SCD College in its centenary year 1920-2020 included details of his revisit to the college. Dr Kamal Kishore, an alumnus now incharge evening wing of the college recollects how Hamza expressed his love for the place where he was born. Reciting the verse of great Persian poet Sheikh Saadi Hamza had said, "A place where a person is born is better for him than being the ruler of Egypt.” Hamza, was the last known living link from Pakistan of Alumni migrated in 1947 said Brij Goyal sharing great legacies of the college.
