Scholarship for students of Lyallpur Khalsa College
Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust giving scholarships to needy and talented students is a commendable initiative: Joint Secretary Jaspal Singh Waraich
Jalandhar, February 10, 2024: Scholarships worth rupees 1,00,000 were awarded to the needy and deserving students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust today.
Speaking on the occasion the College President Governing Council, Balbir Kaur lauded the Trust for extending this financial support to students. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh said that the Trust had been providing financial help to the students of the college for a number of years. He also reiterated the commitment of the college to affordable and quality education, adding that all possible efforts would be made to support meritorious and deserving students.
Every year, Jaswant Singh Rai’s son Dr. KS Rai himself comes and presents this amount of scholarship to the college, but this year his son Amarjit Singh Rai specially arrived at the college from America. The recipients of this scholarship were Shweta Arora, Sucheta, Jasneet Kaur, Nisha, Bhawna, Radhika Dahry, Ravinder Kaur, Aastha, Anurag and Vishal.
Apart from Joint Secretary Jaspal Singh Waraich, Dr. Harjit Singh, HOD Mathematics, Dr. Raju Sharma HOD Physiotherapy, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, HOD Computer Science, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, HOD Biotechnology, Dr. Ranjnish Moudgil HOD Chemistry, Dr. Narveer Singh, HOD Physics and Jaswinder Kaur HOD EVS were also present on the occasion.
