Schools in Punjab to reopen for physical classes for students of V to XII from January 7: ADC (D) Sandeep Kumar

Ludhiana: During the weekly Facebook live session with the residents, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Ludhiana Mr Sandeep Kumar IAS has informed that Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla has today announced that the state government has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and private schools from tomorrow, i.e. January 7, 2021 onwards. He said that the timings of the schools will be from 10 am to 3 pm and students only from class V to XII will be allowed to attend physical classes in the schools.

    This Facebook live session was hosted through the official Facebook page of District Public Relations Officer Ludhiana today.

    Mr Sandeep Kumar informed that all the schools have been directed to ensure the safety of the children amid Covid-19 pandemic. He added that following the directions of the CM, all school managements have been asked to strictly comply with the directions of the government specially advisory issued by the health department to avert the threat of contraction of coronavirus.

    He further said that the district level Republic Day celebrations would be organised on January 26, 2021 at Guru Nanak Stadium, here. He informed that in view of Covid 19 pandemic and the government directions, no cultural function or PT show would be organised on the occasion. He also appealed to all city residents to celebrate our Republic Day as a National festival.

    The ADC (Development) also urged the residents to attend the celebrations in large numbers as the government has allowed gathering of people for this function with 50% capacity of the Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. He said all people attending this district level function must be wearing masks and should follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
