Scindia assures MP Arora flight to Sahnewal till Halwara is operational
MP Rajya Sabha Sanjeev Arora, on Thursday, met Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia in Delhi today and requested that flights between Ludhiana and Delhi be started with immediate effect from Sahnewal Airport till Halwara Airport starts functioning.
Ludhiana, September 8, 2022: MP Rajya Sabha Sanjeev Arora, on Thursday, met Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia in Delhi today and requested that flights between Ludhiana and Delhi be started with immediate effect from Sahnewal Airport till Halwara Airport starts functioning.
In a statement here today, Arora said he apprised the minister that flights between Ludhiana and Delhi from the Sahnewal Airport were taking place before the pandemic. He pointed out that local business community and public at large is suffering badly due to non-existence of any flight to the city.
Adding, he said that the Minister has assured him that he would look into the request and from somewhere or the other he would make sure that the connectivity is done so that flight can be operational.
Arora said he also held discussion about the Halwara Airport with the Union Minister for Civil Aviation. The Union Minister instructed his concerned staff that the work of Halwara Terminal should start immediately and completed in record time.
Meanwhile, Arora also met the Civil Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal and discussed Sahnewal flight and Halwara Airport both.
