SDMs inspect procurement operations in grain markets

Ludhiana, April 18, 2025: In a proactive move to ensure seamless paddy procurement on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Ludhiana conducted surprise inspections at several grain markets across the districts.
Their visits aimed to review ongoing operations and address any challenges faced by farmers during the wheat procurement season.
SDMs Dr Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Poonampreet Kaur, Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Pardeep Singh Bains, Karandeep Singh, Gurbir Singh Kohli interacted with farmers, commission agents and others regarding the operations. Besides that, they also checked the arrangements like drinking water, electricity, etc in Mandis so that farmers could not face any difficulties.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to purchasing every grain brought by farmers. He noted that the administration has implemented thorough arrangements to ensure efficient procurement.
