Seasoned Bollywood Actor Sanjay Mishra Inaugurated LPU’s Annual Media Fest ‘Xpressions 2025’

Jalandhar: A dynamic celebration of creativity and communication unfolded at Lovely Professional University (LPU) with the inauguration of Xpressions 2025, the annual media fest organized by the School of Liberal and Creative Arts (Journalism). The grand event was inaugurated by renowned Bollywood actor Sanjay Mishra and drew over 4,000 enthusiastic students from 40+ universities across India.

With more than 400 students actively participating in events like the Media Quiz, Film Screening, Photography, Short Film, RJ Hunt, Anchor Hunt, Ad-Mad Show, and Reels Competition, the fest became a platform to showcase some of the finest creative and journalistic talents from across the country.

Sanjay Mishra, celebrated for his distinctive and impactful roles in Indian cinema, engaged the audience with a candid and inspiring address. Sharing his personal journey from Bihar to Bollywood, he emphasized the value of resilience, creative freedom, and the pursuit of knowledge. He stated, “As LPU rightly says, ‘Think Big’, I urge you all to think big, because what you think is what you will do.” Reflecting on his career, Mishra spoke candidly about moments of gratitude, challenges on set, and the emotional highs and lows that shaped him, reminding students that, “Life is life because of the bad and the good, just happiness alone cannot define it.” He answered student questions with warmth and wit, encouraging aspiring storytellers to embrace both challenges and triumphs in their creative pursuits.

Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, shared the educational significance of such initiatives stating “Events like Xpressions are integral to holistic learning. They provide a space for students to experiment with ideas, enhance media literacy, and develop critical soft skills like collaboration, articulation, and innovation. These platforms prepare students to not just observe society—but to shape it through meaningful narratives and ethical storytelling.”

Participants not only showcased their best skills but also gained hands-on exposure to real-world media practices, peer networking, and valuable insights from seasoned professionals.
