SEC prescribes maximum limit on election expenses of each contesting candidate in MC polls
Ludhiana, December 12, 2024: District Election Officer Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday stated that the State Election Commission has fixed the expenditure limits for a candidate contesting the municipal elections.
Rs 4 lakh has been fixed for a candidate contesting the municipal corporation elections, Jorwal informed. Similarly, he added that Rs 3.6 lakh for municipal council class-1, Rs 2.30 lakh for municipal council class-2 and Rs 2 lakh for municipal council class-3. He further disclosed that the expenditure limit has also been notified for a candidate contesting for the nagar panchayat is Rs 1.40 lakh.
