Second Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture to be organized by PU on Aug 14 

Chandigarh: Second Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture to be organized by Panjab University on 14 August.

Late Shri Balramji Dass Tandon continues to rule the hearts of people all over the country especially North India. Shri Tandon who considered his compassion and services as his religion whereas his name is taken with pride and honor by North Indians even today.
 
Balramji Dass Tandon served as the Councilor of Municipal Corporation, Amritsar for 13 years. Along with being an RSS pracharak (propagator), Balramji Dass Tandon was a founder member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. After that Shri Tandon was an MLA for almost 24 years, and was Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for nine years. During the last moments of his life, he served as the Governor of Chhattisgarh State from 2014 to 2018.
 
On 14 August 2018, his demise brought a wave of mourn across the country. To appraise about his life’s achievements to the new generation, Punjab University and his son Sanjay Tandon jointly initiated an annual Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture on the death anniversary of demised soul. 
 
Under the aegis of Punjab University and Balramji Dass Tandon Charitable Foundation, the first Balramji  Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture was organized last year on August 14 at Law Auditorium, Panjab University to mark the first death anniversary of Balramji Dass Tandon. Honorable Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu delivered the first memorial lecture themed on ‘honesty in public life’. 
 
Carrying on the same legacy, on August 14, the National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri JP Nadda will be virtually addressing the program as the Chief Guest to deliver the keynote address of second Balramji Dass Tandon Memorial Lecture. It will be broadcast live on all social media platforms / accounts of Tandon family and Panjab University.
 
Such lectures inspire the masses that how an individual survives with facing the difficulties of life by the dint of his faith and determination to eventually give his future generations a prosperous opportunity. The life of Sh Balramji Das Tandon is an inspiration in which Punjab University and Balramji Dass Tandon Charitable Foundation is always striving to inspire and create awareness among the society.
