Section 144 imposed in Ghaziabad ahead of Bakrid
Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) celebrations later this month, the Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate enforced Section 144 in the region on Saturday to preserve peace and order and deter anti-social behaviour. According to a press release from the Commissionerate, the decision was made due to the festival's sensitivity, importance, and urgency. Pigs, bulls, and other illegal animals are barred near mosques, according to regulations.

A prohibition on sacrificing forbidden animals has also been imposed during the festival, and such sacrifice ceremonies are not permitted to take place in open locations. Carrying meat in public in non-Muslim locations is likewise prohibited. Other Police Commissionerate restrictions include prohibiting acts that incite caste or sectarian violence, carrying weapons, disrupting the peace, and playing music at extremely high volumes.
