Chandigarh, October 13, 2023: Sectional programs of National Conference CHASCON 2023- A mega event at Panjab University Chandigarh were held in various departments.
The scientific activities were held at nine sections including, Basic Medical Sciences, Chemical, Dental, Earth & Environmental, Engineering and Management, Mathematical Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Physical and Life Sciences. Total 980 registrations were made in this scientific eventand547 abstracts were submitted by the UG/PG students and research scholars from different organizations in oral and poster categories.Scientific lectures were delivered by the seventeen eminent speakers from different CRIKC and neighboring Institutes.
In the life Science section, Prof. (Dr.) Amod Gupta, a Padma Shri awardee, Emeritus Professor, Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh delivered a motivational and inspiring lecture on ‘Communicating Science – the Steps Before’. He urged the young minds to follow their imagination and have curiosity to ask questions.
The second lecture was delivered by Dr. Vaneet Jishtu, Scientist, HFRI, Shimla.He discussed about plant diversity from the Trans Himalayan cold deserts of Ladakh.
Post lunch session consisted of 42 oral and 89 poster presentations where students participated enthusiastically, and it was very enriching experience to hear from the budding minds.
