SEIZURE of contraband suspected to be heroin in Amritsar Sector

Jalandhar, March 5, 2013: Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 3 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin on Punjab border on Tuesday at Border Out Post Wadhai Cheema of Amritsar Sector. 

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border from smuggling point of view, Aditya Mishra, Inspector General BSF has issued operational guidelines to further strengthen border domination so as to effectively check the menace of smuggling on Punjab border with Pakistan. Consequently BSF Field Units are maintaining enhanced vigil on border.

On Tuesday at about 0815 hrs, the alert BSF Troops of Border Out Post Wadhai Cheema, Amritsar Sector while patrolling ahead of Border Security fence found 3 packets suspected to be heroin in the alignment of BP (No. 62/3s, about 100  meters from International Border and about 500 meters from Border Security fence).

The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/anti-national enemies (ANEs) to smuggle narcotics into India.
