SEIZURE OF FICN Rs 7,48,500 in AOR of BOP Daoke in Amritsar Sector

Jalandhar, February 12, 2013: Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized FICN Rs.7,48,500 on Punjab border on Tuesday at Border Out Post  Daoke of Amritsar Sector. 

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border from smuggling point of view, Aditya Mishra, Inspector General BSF has issued operational guidelines to further strengthen border domination so as to effectively check the menace of smuggling on Punjab border with Pakistan. Consequently BSF Field Units are maintaining enhanced vigil on border.

The alert BSF Troops of Border Out Post Daoke observed suspected movement on previous night on both sides of IB and troops were alerted accordingly. Today, at about 1030 hrs, during search BSF troops found 01 packet of FICN in the field about 50 mtrs ahead of Border Security Fencing and about 150 mtrs from International Boundary in alignment of BP (No. 113/19-20). Probably smugglers tried to exploit this area but their plan failed due to alert troops and the smugglers managed to escape leaving behind this packet which fell in the process. These packets were further checked in which FICN in the denomination of Rs. 500 of the value of Rs. 7,48,500 (Rs. Rs. 500 x 1497 ) were recovered.

The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ANEs to smuggle FICN into India.
