Seminar entitled “Value of Education in Life” held in Doaba College
Gems DCJ Alumini Association of Doaba College Jalandhar, organized an online seminar entitled “Value of Education in Life” . Lord Swraj Paul, renowned alumus- Member of the House of Lords, United Kingdom, was the resource person. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal Doaba College, Dr. Avinash Bawa, Dr. Suresh Mago-Event Co-ordinators, faculty members and students .
Jalandhar, February 3, 2024: Gems DCJ Alumini Association of Doaba College Jalandhar, organized an online seminar entitled “Value of Education in Life” . Lord Swraj Paul, renowned alumus- Member of the House of Lords, United Kingdom, was the resource person. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal Doaba College, Dr. Avinash Bawa, Dr. Suresh Mago-Event Co-ordinators, faculty members and students .
Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, in his welcome address, discussed the glorious accomplishments of Lord Swraj Paul. He also mentioned the book “Beyond Life” written by the resource person. Dr Bhandari encouraged the students to get inspiration from the proud alumnus of Doaba College and learn from this breaking learning experience to march ahead in life successfully.
Lord Swraj Paul recalled his experiences in Doaba College and appreciated its faculty members. He emphasized on the learning milestones in his life, during the journey of his success of becoming a business tycoon, beginning from his home to Doaba College, MIT, Harvard to becoming the Chancellor of the University. He also highlighted the importance of education he acquired everyday and from everyone he met during his lifetime. While answering the questions of the students of various departments of the college, he stressed on the significance of hard work and devotion towards work in life which made him a billionaire. He also shared his experience of building factories in India. He expressed his joy by the determination shown by Prime Minister Sh. Narinder Modi to put education at the forefront of his development agenda. He felt proud to be both Indian and British. He also motivated the students to keep learning throughout life not only theoretically but practically also.
The event culminated with the vote of thanks by Dr. Avinash Bawa. Prof. Priya Chopra conducted the event.
