Seminar on Cyber Crime Held in Doaba College 

NSS Department of  Doaba College Jalandhar organized a seminar entitled “Cyber Crime Awareness” . Ashok Kumar-ACP Cyber Crime graced the occasion as key speaker , Inspector Parminder Kaur and Sub Inspector Raghbir Singh from Saanjh Kendra as speakers who were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr Arshdeep Singh-Coordinator, programme officers and NSS Volunteers.

Jalandhar, January 17, 2025: NSS Department of  Doaba College Jalandhar organized a seminar entitled “Cyber Crime Awareness” . Ashok Kumar-ACP Cyber Crime graced the occasion as key speaker , Inspector Parminder Kaur and Sub Inspector Raghbir Singh from Saanjh Kendra as speakers who were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr Arshdeep Singh-Coordinator, programme officers and NSS Volunteers.

ACP Ashok Kumar highlighted the causes, effects and penalties for cyber-crimes. He pursued about privacy policy for various applications that are freely available while using social media. He explained that different kinds of frauds related to online payment, hacking of email or social media account, misuse of photos etc. He advised students to report immediately in case of cyber-crime. He advised all volunteers to use two step verification, strong password and maintaining secrecy of account details on the phone etc.

Further, Raghbir Singh addressed volunteers on the role of Saanjh Kendras. He explained the difference between police stations and Saanjh Kendras. He also shed light on traffic rules and drug awareness.

Afterwards, NSS volunteers actively participated in a cleanliness drive outside the campus. Volunteers accumulated 30 Kg of waste, litter, and debris along the roadside.

NSS volunteers also painted the NSS park of the college Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari visited the site and appreciated the NSS volunteers for their untiring and selfless efforts.
