Seminar on Disposal of Electronic Waste held in Doaba College
Department of Education and PG Department of CS & IT of Doaba College, Jalandhar in association with PAHAL, a Non-Government Organization organized a seminar on “Electronic Waste: A New Danger of the Age of Technology”.
Jalandhar, April 4, 2024: Department of Education and PG Department of CS & IT of Doaba College, Jalandhar in association with PAHAL, a Non-Government Organization organized a seminar on “Electronic Waste: A New Danger of the Age of Technology”.
The resource person was Bipin Suman. He was warmly welcomed by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Avinash Chander, Head, Department of Education and Prof . Sakshi, Department of CS & IT.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari said that E-waste has become a major problem in the contemporary age and is causing a great harm to the environment. He said that a proper mechanism should be developed for managing E-waste.
Bipin Suman, explained E-waste and its various sources of generation. E-waste produces toxic substances like mercury, nickel, lithium, lead, cadmium, chrome, copper etc. which are very dangerous for health. There is a need to control this E-waste and dispose it off properly. For this purpose, he laid stress on 4Rs i.e. Refuse, Reduce, Repair and Recycle.
