Chandigarh, February 1. 2025: The Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sec 42, Chandigarh in collaboration with Gyan Setu Think Tank organized a Seminar on the topic: "Emerging Contours of Geo-Strategic Flux in the Middle East".
Member of Parliament, Chandigarh Manish Tiwari was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Binu Dogra welcomed the Chief Guest and the Convener of the seminar Lt. Gen (Retd.) (Dr.) K.J Singh who is also the President of Gyan Setu Think Tank. Lt. Gen K.J Singh introduced theme of the seminar and showed his gratitude towards Chief Guest of the occasion who made it possible despite his extremely busy schedule. He also complimented Principal Prof. (Dr.) Dogra for making such wonderful arrangement for the seminar and appraised the audience about the news of a MOU (Memorandum of understanding) been signed between the PGGCG 42 and Gyan Setu think tank that provided insights and perspectives to different issues in global politics and more such issues are to be discussed and shared in coming days of an academic journey. A number of prominent officials and Army veterans graced the occasion with their deliverance and presence. The event was successful, with a robust turnout from students, faculty, and staff. The panel of distinguished speakers dwelled on various aspects of middle east crisis and its geo political importance for global politics. The thoughtful questions were asked by a few that played a significant role in enhancing the depth and breadth of the discussion on different contours of Israel-Hamas conflict and middle east politics and problems in general. It was inspiring to see questions driven by curiosity and a wish to raise curiosity about the issue, which reflects our collective dedication to promoting a more informed and empathetic understanding of global issues.
In their closing remarks, the panellists recommended a number of suggestions for the Israeli, Palestinian, and Arab perspectives on the region's troubled past and present, Overall it was a very stimulating and thoughtful and enriching discourse.
The Seminar ended with a book release on "Emerging Contours of Geo-Strategic Flux Near East to Middle East" authored by Colonel Perminder Singh Randhawa.
