Seminar on NEP2020 Way Forward to Implementation at GNA University
GNA University held a Seminar on “NEP2020 Way Forward to Implementation”.
Jalandhar, July 18, 2022: GNA University held a Seminar on “NEP2020 Way Forward to Implementation”. The main objective of the seminar was to achieve such an outcome, multiple initiatives and actions that will have to be taken in a synchronized and coordinated manner by multiple bodies. Dr. RS Bawa, the Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University was the Chief Guest of the Seminar. The Keynote Speaker for the Seminar was Dr Anand K Joshi, the Country Policy Advisor, International Skill Development Corporation, London. Dr. Pankaj K Mishra, Dean Academics Brainware University and Dr. Yogesh Velankar, the Program Director, UNESCO were the other eminent speakers for the day. The Seminar was presided over by Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor of GNA University.
The Seminar commenced with the introductory note by Dr. Disha Khanna, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts cum the Master of the Ceremony. Every participant of the Seminar seek the blessings of Almighty during the light lamping ceremony followed by a detailed Welcome address by the Vice-Chancellor of GNA University- Dr VK Rattan. Dr VK Rattan fully apprised the august gathering with the most important aspects of the education policy and offered his assurance in taking it to the most achievable level.
The Chief Guest for the Seminar, Dr. RS Bawa, the Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University thanked the University for taking up the Seminar and stated this topic has been the need of the hour in his Welcome Address. He even emphasized on value based education and hoped that with this new education policy, the management as well as the teachers will implement it in full letter and spirit.
The Keynote Address on NEP2020 Institutional Implementation Strategies was given by Dr Anand K Joshi, the Country Policy Advisor, International Skill Development Corporation, London. He stressed upon the detailed institutional implementation of the strategies that can be incorporated in the education sector.
The Seminar was followed by the talk on “Equitable & Inclusive Education: Learning for all” by Dr. Pankaj K Mishra, Dean Academics Brainware University mentioned about the NEP2020 that can be a point of real benefit for all of us and labeled it as a ‘Dream document’.
Talk on “Strategies for Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment reforms in the context of NEP 2020” was delivered by Dr Yogesh Velankar, the Program Director, UNESCO. He stressed on education is the kindling of a flame and such strategies for Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment reforms in the implementation of NEP2020 in education.
The Seminar was further extended with the panel discussion on “Opportunities and Challenges in Implementation of NEP2020”. Dr. Hemant Sharma, the Pro Vice- Chancellor moderated the discussion in full swing. The panelists answered all the raised queries of the participants during the discussion.
The Closing remarks were expressed by the Deputy Registrar, Kunal Bains. He efficiently summed up all the important points discussed in the Seminar and expressed his Vote of Thanks to all.
Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor expressed his thanks and congratulated the Organizing Committee for making a sincere endeavour in organizing this Seminar. S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra remarked, “I am happy to see the zeal of the faculty members to ponder deeply on the Education Policy and imbibe its valuable parameters in full swing via this Seminar.”
Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academic Affairs & the Convener, GNA University extended her acknowledgement to all the Keynote speakers and the Chief Guest for being the part of this intellectual Seminar for the day.
The Seminar was attended by the entire faculty of GNA University along with the academicians from the other institutions and universities. Participation certificates were given to everyone present throughout the Seminar.
