Seminar on Spirituality in Modern Era held in Doaba College

Jalandhar, September 15, 2023: The Student Welfare Committee and Disha@DCJ, Doaba College Jalandhar organised a seminar on the topic  Spirituality in  Modern Era. The resource person was Raju Vaigynik from New Delhi. He was given a floral welcome alongwith Rajesh Premi by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari,  Dr. Ominder Johal, Dr. Suresh Mago, faculty members and students.

In his welcome address, Principal, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari said that there comes a period of age when everyone turns towards spirituality. The sooner these turning points come in life, the less time it takes for life to improve. Today's youth should understand spirituality and bring changes to their lives as this is the need of the hour. A youth can change his family, society and nation by changing himself.

The keynote speaker Shri Acharya Raju vaigyanik, in his address, said that  spirituality is very important in modern times. Divinity and purity of mind should be learnt from a child. Innocence is necessary in a child-like mind. God has bestowed divinity on everyone, but in modern times it has been left behind. He further said that spirituality has nothing to do with the person or place of worship. The beautiful nature of a person alongwith his joyful style is spirituality. The hatred and jealousy of many births will end only by taking refuge in spirituality. Belief in God is necessary. Modern man is far from peace, joy and happiness. The reason for the increase in suicide, sadness and depression is the lack of spirituality. The real joy of life can be achieved only by putting God's words into practice and not by just thinking of God. Moving away from discrimination, the spirit of Vasudhaiva kutumbakam is a remedy to remove sorrow.

The resource person and Rajesh Premi were honoured with mementos by Principal Dr  Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Ominder Johal, Prof. Surjit Kaur, Dr. Suresh Mago, Prof. Sonia Kalra. Dr. Ominder Johal presented the vote of thanks.
