Punjab Senior BJP leaders who had stood firmly with the party even during the days of emergency or militancy are at present struggling for their survival within the party. The major reason is that BJP high command allowing influx of senior political leaders from other political parties, resulting to which the senior BJP leaders are at present feeling themselves isolated and ignored within the party. Recently, number of senior political leaders from Congress joined BJP and with their joining the seniority of senior BJP leaders has been declined. The major focus of the BJP high command is 2024 parliament elections and 2027 Punjab assembly elections. BJP is also focusing of municipal corporations and municipal committee elections to be held in 2023 in Punjab. If all goes well BJP will be certainly succeed in increasing its grass root level cadre and vote bank. Recently, there were rumours that number of senior Congress leaders will be joining BJP but at the last moment many leaders lost the opportunity. Wait and watch may be the strategy of BJP high command and similarly vice versa may be the thought of Congress leaders who were to join BJP and could not join and skipped at the last moment. Senior BJP leaders Master Mohan Lal, Prof Laxmi Kanta Chawla, Manoranjan Kalia and Tikshan Sud are those BJP leaders who even during the days of militancy strongly stood firmly with BJP and left no opportunity to keep the unity and integrity and brotherhood intact in Punjab. At present, these leaders are struggling for their survival in BJP. Will few senior leaders be accommodated in national politics or at a respectableposts or they will be declined from any post from active politics and removed from the core committee to pressurise them mentally to sit at their homes. There is no doubt that as these leaders have the potential strength and power even today to strengthen the organisation and party.
