Senior Citizens Welfare Association organises Free Artificial Limb Distribution Camp

Ludhiana, March 9, 2014: Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Ludhiana Organised a Free Artificial Limb Distribution Camp at Viklang Sahayta Kender Rishi Nagar Ludhiana today. 29 physically handicapped persons were given Artificial Limbs, Caliper, Wheel Chair & Hearing Aids during the camp.

S.P Karkara, President Senior Citizens Welfare Association Ludhiana briefly mentioned about various welfare programmes undertaken by the Association, such as Eye Check-up Camp, Multi Speciality Medical Check-up Camp, Awareness Camp, Financial Help to Senior Citizen, Poor Children, besides taking up matters concerning Senior citizens with the State & District administration. He appreciated the efforts of Bharat Vikas Parishad and said that our organisation has been holding such camps in the past and will continue to help the deserving handicapped persons in future also.

Suraj Jyoti President BVP informed the gathering that BVP has been serving the physically handicapped persons since 1966 and has provided Artificial Limbs, Calipers, Try Cycle, Wheel Chair and Hearing Aids, to more than 40000 persons. He thanked the association for their co-operation and financial help in holding the camp.

Earlier Er. Baldev Singh, incoming President of the association welcomed the members of association, BVP Trustees and the beneficiaries.

D.R Bhatti, former DGP Punjab member of Association also spoke on the occasion. The function ended with vote of thanks moved by K.K Dhir, member Executive Committee SCWAL.
