Senior State Football Championship begins in Lyallpur Khalsa College
Senior State Football Championship began in Lyallpur Khalsa College here today. Organised by District Football Association Jalandhar the championship was inaugurated by Perfect Singh the MLA Jalandhar Cantt and the former captain of Indian hockey team and Jaspal Singh Waraich , Joint Secretary College Governing Council.
Jalandhar, October 16, 2024: Senior State Football Championship began in Lyallpur Khalsa College here today. Organised by District Football Association Jalandhar the championship was inaugurated by Perfect Singh the MLA Jalandhar Cantt and the former captain of Indian hockey team and Jaspal Singh Waraich , Joint Secretary College Governing Council.
In the opening match of this Championship, the football team of Nawanshahr defeated DFA Ropar by 3-1. Karandeep of the winning team was declared the best player for scoring a hat trick in the match. In the second match the Jalandhar team defeated the Barnala Team by 3-0 with the goals scored by Gaurav Yashpal and Madhur. The second match was presided over by Surjit Singh, a veteran footballer and ex-SP Punjab Police.
The College Principal Dr Jaspal Singh informed that the Championship would continue from 16 to 19 October and on 17th October, matches between Kapurthala and Sangrur and Amritsar and Patiala would be played.
Present on the occasion were Tarlochan Singh Sangha, Sukhi Maan, Charanjit Singh Manmohan Singh, Vijay Vaish, Balvinder Rana, Ajwant Singh, Santokh Singh Norway and Dhanwant Kumar.
The stage was conducted by Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar.
