Chandigarh, November 21, 2023: The Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a Sensitization Lecture in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Associate Director, Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh delivered a lecture on the topic “Career Skills and Placement Opportunities” in the Seminar Room of the Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Dr.Bhawna Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh welcomed the guests and introduced the topic. He discussed various career opportunities for the social sciences students – pursuing higher education, appearing for various competitive examinations, joining private sector, entrepreneurship, internships with various organisations including NGOs and undertaking research.
He highlighted the importance of soft skills such as communication, critical thinking, problem solving and adaptability in securing employment. Stating the importance of experiential learning, he stressed the value of Internships, networking and building professional relationships to enhance job prospectus.
