Ludhiana, July 30, 2024: The Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) recently organized a Session on Standardization of Bicycle Rims in collaboration with MSME Development and Facilitation Office and the Bureau of Indian Standards.
The aim was to evaluate draft standards for Cycle Rims, seeking industry expertise to ensure these standards meet high-quality requirements and align with best practices. The session marks a significant step towards enhancing the quality and competitiveness of bicycle rims, benefiting both individual businesses and the industry as a whole. More than 50 industrialists attended the session.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO emphasized the necessity of standardizing bicycle rims to enhance production efficiency and increase market share, particularly on a global scale. Standardized rims, he noted, would be easier to market and install, elevating overall quality and competitiveness in the industry.
Saurav Verma, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Indian Standards, provided insights into rim specifications and highlighted the importance of industry feedback in refining and finalizing these standards. He stressed that collaborative efforts would foster learning and drive growth across the industry.
Rajeev Jain, General Secretary, FICO and UCPMA, underscored the crucial role of stakeholders in the evaluation process, ensuring that finalized standards are robust, practical, and representative of collective expertise.
Wazir Singh, Assistant Director, MSME DFO Ludhiana, acknowledged industry inputs as pivotal in the standardization efforts.
