Session on IPR awareness for MSMEs held at MSME DI
Objective of program was to create a general awareness about IPR
Ludhiana: FICO participated in IPR Awareness Program for MSMEs, held at MSME Development Institute in Association with Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Intellectual Property Office (IPO), New Delhi under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, organized an IPR Awareness Program for MSMEs at MSME Development Institute Ludhiana. Shri Vineet Sharma Vice President (Projects) & Patent Agent (India) Talwar Advocates was the Key Note Speaker along with Ms. Divya Jyoti Mehra Partner Corporate Law Talwar Advocates.
The objective of the program was to create a general awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), among Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to make them aware about the advantages and the need to protect their own IPs while strengthening the IP management and protection regime through capacity building and inter-agency coordination. IPO has decided to focus on creating IP awareness for MSMEs in the various states and in Government departments considering the vast potential of IP awareness at the state level.
S. Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO said that the focus of the Program was on the Introduction to IPR and current IPR regime in India alongside Role and importance of IP for MSMEs. Also, Methods and Procedure of Patenting for MSMEs – Filing Procedure & Legal Process for registration of Trademark – Enforcement of Trademark Rights. The session was very knowledgeable & enlightening in terms of patent, trademark and other related issues.
